The Alberton Fire Department is a member department of the following organizations:
Prince Edward Island Firefighters Association This is a group consisting of Fire Departments across Prince Edward Island with an executive made up of members from various departments. The Association was formed around 1951 with the objective of lobbying the Provincial Government to provide better training facilities for the firefighters of Prince Edward Island. Today, the Association still serves in a similar capacity, representing the needs of the firefighters and fire departments of PEI. It also runs the provincial firefighter's school.
West Prince Mutual Aid This is an agreement between the fire departments of Western Prince County, Prince Edward Island. The member departments are Tignish, Miminegash, Alberton, O'Leary, West Point, Lennox Island, Wellington, and Miscouche. Each member department has agreed to provide equipment and/or personnel to other departments when the need arises such as an exceptionally large fire or other major incident. The personnel and equipment given to one department by another are provided without charge. Because of this agreement, the residents of the member districts are provided with better fire protection and lower insurance rates.
